Pool Water Treatment

The Pool Water Treatment Section ensures that water used in swimming or recreational pools remains clean, safe, and free from harmful microorganisms. It involves chemical dosing, filtration, and disinfection to maintain water clarity and hygiene. This process protects users from waterborne diseases and keeps the pool in compliance with safety standards.

Treatment Process

  • Skimming & Filtration: Surface skimmers and sand/multimedia filters remove debris, dust, and suspended particles.
  • Chemical Dosing: Controlled addition of disinfectants like chlorine, calcium hypochlorite, or sodium hypochlorite to kill bacteria and viruses.
  • pH Control: Acids or bases are added to maintain pool water pH between 7.2 – 7.6 for effective disinfection and user comfort.
  • Algaecide Addition (if needed): Prevents algae growth in stagnant or sun-exposed areas.
  • Circulation System: Pumps continuously circulate water through the treatment loop to maintain consistency and cleanliness.
  • Backwashing (Periodic): Cleans the filter system by reversing water flow and flushing out trapped contaminants.

Components of Pool Water Treatment System

  • Pump: Circulates pool water through the filtration and chemical treatment systems.
  • Filter: Removes suspended solids, dirt, and debris.
    Common types:
    • Sand filter
    • Cartridge filter
    • Diatomaceous earth (DE) filter
  • Chemical Dosing System: Adds disinfectants (like chlorine) and pH adjusters automatically to maintain water quality.
  • Disinfection Unit: Kills harmful microorganisms.
    Types include:
    • Chlorinator (chlorine tablets or liquid dosing)
    • UV Sterilizer (uses ultraviolet light)
    • Ozone Generator (oxidizes contaminants)
