Cooling Towers

Aqua Mech considers that most of the water employed for industrial purposes is used for cooling a product or process because of its availability. Heat transfer is simply the movement of heat from one body to another — the hotter being the source and the cooler the receiver, which is called a cooling tower or heat exchanger.

Our Treatment Programs

Aqua Mech starts with an assessment of the process, water chemistry, cooling requirements, and metallurgy in your system. This allows us to determine whether there is a tendency to corrode, scale, foul, or a combination of the three. Our cooling water chemical programs are effectively used to reduce and prevent these issues in industrial cooling water systems.

Aqua Mech expertly applies our products to keep your system running at peak efficiency, extend equipment life, reduce water usage, and protect the environment. We also offer state-of-the-art control and monitoring technology with DCS compatibility to increase reliability and decrease costs.

Heat Exchange Systems – Chemical Engineering

Purpose:

Transfer heat from one fluid to another without mixing. Common in:

  • Distillation columns
  • Reactors
  • Condensers
  • Evaporators

Types (Based on Cooling Water Circulation):

1. Once-Through System

How it works: Water passes once, absorbs heat, and is discharged to river/sea.

Used in: Power plants, refineries.

Pros: Simple, low cost.

Cons: High water use, causes thermal pollution.

Example: River water cooling turbines.
